Frequently Asked Questions for SoTel Systems SIP Service

How do I submit orders for my customers?
Orders can be submitted via fax or email. If submitting by email, we ask that you attach the scanned documents to your email to help expedite the process. The documents required for any order are available in your Agent packet, and electronically on our website.
How do I register for the SoTel Systems portal?
Go to SoTel Systems Voice Services Support and click on “Register” in the right-hand column. Enter your Full Name, email address, and the check words, then click “Register”. You will then receive an email with further instructions.
Can I demo the product for my customer?
Part of the Agent Packet is a special Agent Demo Account which you can use to demo the service to your customers. This Demo Account is independent of any corporate account you might have with us.
Can I pick a specific NPA-NXX for my customer?
When ordering new DID numbers you can only order within a specific rate-center. New numbers will be assigned from the available number pools from a local carrier in that rate-center – we do not have control over the specific NPA-NXX that might be assigned, and a local carrier can only assign numbers they control. However it is always possible to order a specific NPA-NXX from the carrier who manages it, and then port that number over to our service.
Can I order Vanity Number’s?
Vanity toll-free numbers are available. Vanity local numbers are generally not available.
What is the lead time for ordering new DID numbers or porting DID numbers?
New numbers are generally available within 48 hours. The timeline for porting DID numbers will depend on many parameters: quality of the documentation provided with the porting order, expediency of the customer’s current carrier port-out desk, etc. Our customer specialists will help you navigate these issues.
How and when are commissions paid?
Commissions are paid monthly in the third week following billing on commission amounts exceeding $10.00 Amounts of less than $10.00 are accrued until the minimum payment amount is met.
Can I fax over your SIP service?
We support fax for inbound and outbound calls, both in T.38 and G.711 modes.
Can I call internationally?
We offer great, competitive international rates to any country in the world.
Can I use or obtain an international number with your service?
Although we are not able to move (port in) an international number to our service, we offer international DID numbers in all major countries, including Canada, Mexico, Western Europe, and South America.
