Norstar software is designed to handle the call processing needs of sophisticated businesses in today's market. Both Modular ICS and Compact ICS software's current version is 6.1 (version 4.0 and higher refurbished is recommended). Some of the many features include:

  • Personal and system-wide speed dials.You can have up to 24 personal speed dials stored on each Norstar telephone set, and up to 70 speed dials stored on the system for your entire company to use.


  • Multiple-zone paging. Find anyone fast with paging for up to three zones on the system. Or page all zones and external speakers with one-touch access.


  • Ring-again settings. If you need to speak with another user who is constantly busy on the phone, have his phone call you automatically the moment he hangs up with the ring-again feature.


  • Priority Call. You can break into an employee's phone conversation to deliver an urgent message or request. Priority Call can be activated or can be programmed to be blocked on a per set basis.


  • External transfer. You can seamlessly connect a caller to any external phone through the use of this feature. It works great for a mobile workforce or tele-commuters.


  • Internal caller notification. If you are on a phone call, and another user attempts to intercom your phone, the display will show you the name of the caller and their extension number.


  • Send message. Have a user's LCD display tell them to call you back when they are finished with their conversation.


  • Call restrictions. Save your business money by restricting certain phones on the system to only be able to call specific numbers, or to block calls to long-distance numbers. We can program different levels of restrictions for you. Managers can override restrictions with up to 99 class-of-service passwords for various levels of access.


  • Night/Lunch service modes. You can set up the system to ring different phones during the nighttime or during lunch if you have a receptionist. We can program the service modes for you to manually activate them, or automatically activate at specified times if your business follows a more regimented schedule.


  • Privacy on/off. On by default, Privacy can be deactivated if you need to be able to monitor your employees conversations without them knowing.


  • Voice Call. Establish a direct hands-free voice connection between two Norstar phones.


  • Call Camp. If you are on the phone and an external caller wishes to hold for you, the call can be camped on your phone so that you will see that someone is waiting to talk to you. Combine this powerful feature with Caller ID, and you will have the ability to know who that caller is so you may prioritize the importance.


  • Call Log. Discover how many calls you or your employees have taken or missed. Or know exactly how much time was spent on a particular call (great for lawyers!). Combined with Caller ID, this feature will allow you to know the names of the callers you missed!
